  1.     Fix Image 2.0, MAC GIF/JPG to IBM image conversion <FREEWARE> 1994-95

  3. Basically this helpful program finds and strips 128 byte MAC header
  4. "Packets" from MAC JPG's and GIF's.
  5.  
  6. If you have ever downloaded a GIF or JPG image file from a MAC BBS and
  7. discovered that Cshow or other image viewers for IBM do not reconize it as a
  8. GIF or JPG, try running FixIM 2.0 on it. It fixes all images I've recieved
  9. from MAC BBS's.

  11. Unlike past versions that relied on user input on filenames and output,
  12. this new version will target all files in the current directory, run tests,
  13. and determine if each file is a valid image. After that it will correct any
  14. headers to proper form and output the images under thier filename with the
  15. proper file extender if missing or wrong.

  17. It will give you a color representation as it move through each file in
  18. the directory:

  20.    (blinking yellow=testing, red=unvalid image and green=valid or fixed)

  22. To use FixIM, just type FIXIM at the DOS prompt.

  24. I've only tested it on MSDOS 6.x and color. I don't know how it will run
  25. on any DOS under 6.0 (hint: so upgrade!) and anyone interested in GIF and
  26. JPG image files should have at least COLOR! :)
